Raise your hand if you’ve enjoyed reading interactive fictions!

It can be anything from digital games of visual novel genre to choose-your-own-adventure books like Goosebumps. Our choice matters to reach the ending we want to see in these fictions, and we’ve loved it since our childhood. That’s why we wish to bring it as companion books to Villagers in Love, or VIL as we lovingly call it.

VIL was a project that we intended as a simplified version of our big one, Annaloka. It’s starting to grow on us, though. Enough for us to dedicate our December to write a CYOA book for a villager or two.

So, what you’ll get is a character sheet for a villager, their artwork, their way of greeting you once you reach a new heart color (just like in the games), AND fixed special events from White to Red and everything in between. They will be print ready, because we enjoyed flipping the pages with a purpose, and we hoped you would too.

Furthermore, in January, we’re going to enter Make 100 campaign in Kickstarter with VIL to help funding CYOA versions of the rest of the villagers, collaborating with other author friends in this project. The collaboration is to be expected; there are around 50 villagers who will have their own stories.

We’ve always intended VIL to be highly customizable, so it’s up to you to pick up a companion book or stay true to your intended sweetheart. That’s why, if you wish to see anything implemented in VIL, let us know and we’ll see if it can be done for the base rulebook as we give it a refresh this winter. More festivals?
